Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 September 2026
These terms cover your use of Folio (digitalcareerportfolio.com). By creating an account you agree to them. They are written in plain English and are not legal advice.
Your account
You need an account to build a portfolio. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You must be at least 16 years old.
Your content stays yours
Your résumé, photos, text and the portfolio we generate for you remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only to run the service: generating your site, showing previews, and hosting it publicly once you publish. You confirm you have the right to everything you upload, including photos and any work you present.
AI-generated pages
Folio uses AI to write and edit your site. AI can get details wrong. Check your portfolio before you publish it — you are responsible for what appears on your site, including claims about your experience. We are not responsible for decisions anyone makes based on your published content.
Fair use
Please do not use Folio to:
- impersonate someone else or publish a site that misrepresents who you are;
- publish unlawful, hateful, or infringing material;
- add code intended to harm, mislead or track visitors without their knowledge;
- attack, overload, or try to break into the service or other people's accounts.
We can take a site offline or close an account that breaks these rules.
Publishing
Publishing makes your site public, and search engines can index it. Unpublish takes it offline again straight away without deleting anything. If you connect your own domain, you are responsible for that domain and its DNS settings.
Plans and billing
Folio has a free plan and paid plans. Payments are processed by Stripe. A monthly plan renews each month until you cancel, and cancelling stops the next renewal — your paid features stay active until the end of the period you have paid for. You can manage or cancel your plan from the billing portal in Settings. Prices are shown on the pricing page; if they change, the new price applies from your next renewal. For a refund request, email us.
Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. That removes your portfolios and uploaded files and takes your published sites offline. If you want a copy of your work, export your site's code from the builder first.
Service availability
We work to keep Folio available and fast, but it is provided “as is”: we cannot promise it will never be interrupted, and we do not guarantee any particular result, such as getting a job or ranking in search. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous twelve months.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use Folio after a change means you accept it. Questions? Email support@digitalcareerportfolio.com. See also our Privacy Policy.
